Hayworth by 12% in Nov. Count on it.
He's safe. I lived in that district until last year; if J.D. loses expect the GOP to get absolutely destroyed. That district has 151,000+ registered GOP versus 95,000+ Democrat.

The seat of concern is the one which Kolbe is resigning from. It leans GOP, but not overwhelmingly so.
Renzi in the first could be taken out by a solid Democrat opponent.
Hayworth has really grown (not literally!) as a Congressman since he came in with the Class of '94.
In his first couple of terms, he seemed brash, loud and borderline obnoxious.
Since then, he seems as though he's toned it down a bit. I see that reflected in the margins of his victories.
Part of this HAS to be conservatives trying to keep JD's feet to the fire. The rat just won't have the right answers on border control. JD got 60 last time he'll at least as well this time.
I'm in JD's district, he will win, Mitchell is unknown outside of Tempe.
But, I wish a Republican would run against JD. JD is a camera whoring buffoon. I wish they didn't reassign my district a few years back, I had Flake as my congressman, and he is a good guy.
I wish Hayworth would've run for Governor, he would win, there's no one that really sticks out in the Republican side this year except for Barry Goldwater's nephew and that's just his nephew, he's a no name otherwise. If he would've, I know a conservative who would've run for his place in congress, he's friends with my family and told my parents he would've, he would've been perfect, but he decided against it since Hayworth is staying there. Oh well.
Renzi I hope does better this year. One of the guys who tried to run against him was pathetic, the guy couldn't answer any of my questions when he came to my school to discuss the Democratic party.
Amnesty + broken term-limit pledge = I vote for nobody this time out. Sorry Jeff.
Ah, but you forget that JD also made a term limit pledge many many years ago and broke it. I just think JD is an empty suit, I've met him, he is dumb as a box of rocks.
But, I respect your opinion!
Hows things? I may be moving out of PHX for a year or two, we will see.
(BTW, have you been listening to Radio Free Phoenix?)
Who's carrying Radio Free Phoenix? I have not heard it, but it sounds like my kind of station. Are you off to the Orient again?
www.radiofreephoenix.com
Its Andy Olson's internet radio station, with Liz Boyle and Dave Cooper and Pete Michaels. I have a friend down in Yuma who does Sunday mornings for them. Its great, like KSTM in its heyday. Wish it was over the air.
As for leaving, I'm interviewing for a job on Kwajalein, but I also may be working for an embassy, who knows at this point?
Yeah, JD pledged to only serve a few terms, so did Salmon, but Salmon was serious about it. At least Shaddeg never took a pledge.
I used to work with Andy, back in the Storm days (I was a DJ there).
There IS a good candidate running for govn'r in Arizona...his name is Len Munsel and he's a fine Christian conservative who has been actively serving the conservative voters through AZ Center for Family Policy. He has fought against the many liberal issues being shoved down our throats by this current gov (all day kindergarten, gay rights, etc). I can vouch for Len and say he would make a great Gov of Arizona!
I know, you told me long ago!
Andy is on now. I know another DJ there who does a specialty show, and I've met Cheryl Sweet (now known as Marilyn Manson's mother in law). And they got a great Zappa show every Sunday.
They also do a show where listeners can host 15 songs, I was going to do it last year, but never made the time. I can't believe you haven't heard of RFP!
Its the best radio station around, free form, no commercials and always interesting, and Liz is a doll, I went to High School with her.
No thanks, I am not a fan of Len Munsil. He was editor of the State Press when I was at ASU, and I have heard him ever since. I do not want a theocratic evangelical like him in office. I do not like Munsil one bit, he is not my kind of person, and I won't vote for him.
Listening now. I give them a few more "This Sucks" songs and it's off. I usually give a new station a few sets and different DJs before I give it up, but Andy's running stuff that ain't my cup of tea right now....
They have a log of every song played on the website.
Good stuff now, Jerry Jeff, Warren Zevon, Gin Blossoms, Traffic.
Each DJ plays whatever they want, you can't judge them by 10 minutes of listening.
A lot of what you hear about the competitive races--and how the Democrats are going to elect Speaker Pelosi next January--is hype. If you listen carefully to the Lamestream media drumbeat about President Bush's "popularity" being at an all-time low and then examine how the Democrats are running against President Bush, I think you will see a different picture. Yes, there are a lot of people upset with President Bush's "performance" who when asked to vote for a Democrat or a Republican will realize they are not voting on whether or not they approve of President Bush's handling of illegal immigration or the prosecution of the GWoT or high gasoline prices (which by the way we have many more Democrats than Republicans to thank for the shortage of supplies of crude oil, refinery capacity, and gasoline). The bottom line is can person A to a better job for me (I would have said the country years ago, but I realize most people vote what is good for me rather than what is good for the country or the district or even the "greater good"). I think most thinking people will realize that How-Weird Dean IS more than just the mouthpiece (and vocal cords) of the Democrat Party. He IS that party. In short, when forced to choose between person A and person B, the fact that person A is of the same party as the president and person B is not does not mean that person B can do a better job as a U.S. Representative or a U.S. Senator. In my adult lifetime, (I voted in my first local election in November 1971 at age 21) the party that is most likely to fork things up is the party of Jimmah Cahtah. That party controlled Congress for most of my adult lifetime and every time they were in control of Congress, the did irreparable damage to the nation and to my family and me. The Democrats are the nanny party. Sorry, but I don't believe that Americans need nannies.
I will give them more than 10 minutes....Gotta see what the other jocks are playing. Andy O and I never really liked the same stuff, anyway. Sound quality is good and all that, so give me a DJ I like and it'll be fine.
Liz pulls lots of interesting stuff. Send in your list, they will put you on the air.
