That middle ground recognizes there are differences between an illegal immigrant who crossed the border recently, and someone who has worked here for many years, and has a home, a family, and an otherwise clean record.

If they're "undocumented," I wonder how we're supposed to know which ones have crossed the border recently, and which ones have worked here for many years.

How are they going to document their work record, if we're going to hold employers to account for the workers they hire? It is against the law to hire someone who is in this country illegally.

I think there are some holes in this comprehensive immigration reform plan.

I had a bunch to say but just thinking about how insane this whole magilla is is too frustrating to deal with right now...haven't been this mad since the Clinton Days..(there I found a good way to use "is is"...gotta get some sleep)

In other words, if they break the law long enough, then it's OK to have broken it. Nice try, doesn't fly.
