President Bush has been very weak regarding Illegal Immigration

I'm sometimes amazed by the naivete I see expressed on this board. Bush is not weak on illegal immigration - his administration OPENLY aids and abets illegal immigration.

There are hundreds (thousands?) of existing laws, rules & regulations under his direct executive control pertaining to resident status. Ranging from the IRS, SS Admin, SEC, FDIC, et al, they are all complicit in making it easier for employers, lenders, insurers, governments, etc to provide jobs, goods & services to illegal aliens.

This could stop tomorrow, not by passage of any new laws, nor the issuance of EOs, but by simply following EXISTING law. If the person responsible for such actions is openly violating these provisions, what recourse do Americans have?

Bump- many bushbots and koolaid drinkers rush to any thread about illegals; I would propose the add this MOTTO to each post they make:

"REPORT ON A MINUTEMAN TODAY-MIGRANTS RIGHTS FIRST!"

I was being kind, not naive. Some people are even sensitive to the word "weak", as you can see..:)

You are exactly right. It is President Bush's choice and nothing else that is preventing the enforcement of our laws against illegal immigration. You ask what recourse do Americans have? There is one recourse provided in our constitution -- impeachment.

By his ongoing failure to enforce the democratically enacted laws against illegal immigration President Bush has shown his contempt both for democratic self-governance and the American people. His arrogant refusal to perform his constitutional duty should be met with the one remedy provided by the Constitution to protect the people against the usurpation of their legislative authority -- impeachment. It is now well past time for Congress to assert the rights of the American people to self-government
