Hey, He's a D-rat, that means he's allowed, doesn't it?
"No and no"
Bummer - I guess that only Republicans can be held accountable for illicit activities then *sigh
I have a feeling that this will come up if Richardson runs in 2008. There could be some blow back here. Richardson used to be in Congress and I think he served with Mollohan.
I know at least 4 freepers who have directly benefited from his appropriations. Does that make them all criminals?
Besides that, the DOE procurement people are trained to avoid even the illusion of impropriety. I know a few of them. They are not going to award a contract that will get them in trouble, regardless of who's third cousin owns the company.
You know, he may be right. He may have simply invested at the right time.
Too bad his party uses flimsier evidence to promote their Republican Culture of Corruption campaign.
Meanwhile, Tom DeLay is leaving the house with nothing more than what he brought with him -- no multi-million-dollar nest eggs for Tom. Funny how that "corruption" doesn't seem to have enriched the republicans who were involved.
But the democrats all seem to do VERY WELL financially -- Clinton's 8 million dollar "book deal", her 100x futures trading win, Mollohan's real estate, Mark Warner's company buyout, Al Gore's cushy Google job with stock options a month after he left office....
But republicans? Cheney comes in rich, and pretty much is forced to forgo 8 million dollars of stock options -- and still the democrats lie about his being "enriched" by Halliburton.

The President is involved, bet on it - even if the guy is a Dimocrat.
Nope, I likely won't vote for him. We agree on many issues and he helps the area alot, but we differ on some property rights issues.
I just hate to see political games.
