I suspect there is an unwritten quota of heavyset women on
The View. As long as it was just Starr Jones, one-of-four, with the rest of the women being trim and fit, she was the outlier. Visually, she provided contrast to the rest of the group, and looking at them as a whole, you would not say they were a heavyset group.
But two-of-four is an entirely different matter. Now, visually, the group looks more heavy than slim. You would look at a picture of them and say they are a heavyset group.
The View is being exquisitely careful to replace one African-American woman with another African-American woman, but they are not bothering to replace one heavyset woman with another. That just goes to show how one condition is societally protected and the other is not.

Star Jones Reynolds has been reportedly told that her services are no longer required. This should come as no real surprise as many speculated that she would be leaving once Rosie O'Donnell was signed to the show.I guess she is no longer needed now that theyve found an even bigger "Little round mound of sound"

It was an "optical" decision.
