I have a Police Capt right here and he knows better than to ask about a Mexicans legal status unless they are suspects and apprehended for committing a serious crime.

He does ask for an ID when he pulls one over, does he not? No ID, No insurance? What then? Sounds like the "force" is run by ACLU lawyers rather than people interested in crime control.
