Robert Novak Political Report
Georgia-3/8: This seat, re-numbered after the mid-decade redistricting of last year, is now in greater peril for Democrats than before. Rep. Jim Marshall (D) is tempting fate with his announcement that he favors investigations of the Bush Administration. Mac Collins (R), who will try to link him to the growing impeachment movement on the left. Leaning Democratic Retention.

Hmm...maybe Rove and the Dems are conspiring to make the election theme meme "impeachment" to distract the pesky "people" from issues such as illegal immigration and gas prices. Keeps the business money and internet-impulse contributions coming in too.
well, I would agree with you - however, since its the truth that the Dems would indeed go for impeachment, perhaps in the form of a rolling endless hearing, if they regain control - then its a legitimate campaign issue to use.
Disagree.
Democrats made it a campaign issue. Conservatives have stated for years this was the intent of Democrats. Republicans are merely catching up and highlighting the intent of the opposition should they take control.
It's a legitimate campaign issue, and they are entitled to use every legitimate means at their disposal to entice voters to their side. There is no conspiracy.
Obviously they would rather this be the dominate discussion rather than the border, but it's fair and open for use.
Just as we're entitled to use demonstrations by pro-amnesty supporters in the streets to place pressure on our officials to enforce the border. It's perfectly legitimate and I'd state even ethical.
