Hardly. Putin calls for equality. For no double standards. For same requirements for only one superpower and other countries.
Ayatollahs maybe not our friends but not enemies either. Hence Russia wants to have nothing to do with attack on them. Live and let live. Live alone ayatollahs until THEY start hostilities. I think not they won't do that. They are weak against USA.
May be it is the clue why USA picks up on them?
