I voted for Bush in 92. I've refined my political views in the intervening 14 years, and now believe in principals over party.

I respect you for that but my experience is that no candidate ever exactly mirrors what I want. It has always been a matter of voting for the lesser of two evils. Sure, I could forget the consequences of my vote and just vote for self-gratification but that helps no one but my own ego.

Good Lord. No wonder the GOP is in such sorry shape. We give them permission to misbehave and won't hold them responsible for their betrayal of trust.
