Their real problem is that after six years of taking us for suckers, they have few options to convincingly persuade us that whatever conservative policies they advocate are anything more than election-time fodder, to be forgotten the minute the voting is over.

I'm afraid the GOP has pretty much made its bed. How many more times do they have to tell us to run up and kick the football, only to have it pulled away.
