Inland Valley Daily Bulletin Inaccurate
(05/09/2006)Statement Todays report by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols, is inaccurate. Border Patrol does not report activity by civilian, non-law enforcement groups to the Government of Mexico. During a detention of a legal or illegal immigrant that produces an allegation of improper treatment, Border Patrol reports the allegation and allows the appropriate consulate to interview the individual in custody.
This is consistent with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 that provides consular access to foreign nationals being detained by a foreign government. This is the same agreement that protects United States citizens when they travel to foreign countries.
U.S. Customs and Border Protections Border Patrol continues to appreciate the efforts of civilians who contact law enforcement authorities regarding suspicious activity.
That's creepy to me. I can't imagine believing a story from the NYT. As my favorite ambassador John Bolton said, "I don't have time to read much fiction." :)
So the Minutemen are still pushing the story, even though the Border Patrol has denied it.
Gee, I guess they're *NOT* going to try to use it to their advantage after all. / sarcasm OFF
One of my recent favorites was they believed Harry Reid and Dick Durbin
Maybe 3? :-)
Not quite:
The Daily Bulletin's managing editor, Jeff Keating, said Tuesday the newspaper stands by its story.
Some people don't seem to think so, and their reasons are howlers, so to speak. The denial is simple and clear, but the reaction from some is "If it were a lie there would be a longer denial."
Uh, yeah, write: "We don't do this" is a pretty clearcut denial to me.
If it was a longer denial, the same people would be saying "Look at how they're trying to obfuscate the truth, if it's a lie, just SAY so."
There's no distortion here: It's a simple "That's not true, period" statement.
It's amazing to me how some people here are so ready to believe the MSM they are probably bashing on other threads. Then when a clear, unambiguous denial comes through, they keep believing what they WANT to be true so it fits their paranoid fantasies.
What the hell do these people want?
Send me your email address and I'll get in touch with you as soon as I care what you think of my posting habits.
Bush is wrong. Open borders are wrong. And you know it. You're being dishonest with yourself on this issue.
Maybe I'll contact Marie Laveau and have her visit you.
They may show up on their own..or, do you think they posted to the thread that IS left???
Do you remember their names??
No kidding?
Now THAT is sick. Right on par with believing Schumer.
ONLY democrats believe them..
We have been infiltrated.
Please point out exactly where I demanded anything from any of you.
I asked you, Why don't you call Sara? Is that what qualifies as a demand in your mind?
And seeing you calling anyone or anything creepy is, well, ironic.
Some guy up the thread even believed the Mexican Government Web Site, which confused the heck out of me.
Well hey. That's all the proof I need. When the MSM says they stand by their stories, you can take them to the bank.
By the way, what ever did happen to Dan Rather?
Hey now, 2 directly concerning the matter, and 1 in the same thread but was just talking to someone!
And I have no idea who that woman is....oops.
Yup that's what I believe, When I'm upset with him, I keep it to myself, I have no need to sign onto FR and climb into your pit of despair. Life is way too short for that
You're confused. The only proof you need is someone from the government telling you it isn't so.
You expected something different?
From a NEWSPAPER?
I only remember one or two. Most of them had screen names that weren't familiar to me. That means they either post primarily to immigration threads (which I hardly ever visit) or are infrequent posters.
Even the NYT prints retractions.
