I don't think they are going to vote GOP. I do think the people who give the largest donations to the GOP like the cheap labor and, even if they are not using it directly, they benefit from the downward pressure on wages that comes with the package.

I think employers pay what it takes to get competent employees. There was a time, not long ago, that a visit to a fast food restaurant was a chore. The employees were incompetent, unreliable, often rude, rebelious toward managemnet, and many couldn't make change. They seemed to resent having to work. Those were good, young, bona fide Americans. Many were still students.

The same was true of most retail establishments. Rude, or indifferent, incompetent employees was the norm.

Then the immigrants started coming in. Most were here legally but not all. These were from all countries. Look at any 7-11. Although many at first had language problems they soon improved and we got better at understanding them. The big difference between the immigrants and the regular Americans was they were competent, reliable, and they appreciated the opportunity.

That is what turned the tide toward immigrants. Then in the last few years the flood gates opened and we have the situation we have today.

If immigrants underbid each other for jobs who is to complain. However, many immigrants are paid more than minimum because they are dependable and they work hard, something Americans had stopped doing. Not all are working for less than Americans will accept, they are paid more because they are worth more.

It is too easy to blame Bush, the Republicans, and employers but the real culprits are the Democrats (the Clinton Administration openly encouraged and abetted the flood, the Democrats in Congress are blocking anything from getting done, etc.), the labor unions who are losing members and want new recruits, the media who are leftists, and the socialists of all stripes who like the increased dependence on government. They like the out of control situation just as it is.

As usual, the media deflects the blame to the conservatives while they do all they can to exacerbate the problem. Too bad that many conservatives have become the useful idiots.

So you rather have businessmen makes $$$$ at the expense of American citizens. Growing up in California, I find "people" with attitudes like your sickening, and worse than those of liberals. At least with liberals, I know what to expect, but from "conservatives" like you, I expect better, but what so many get is a stab in the back. Employers need to obey the law, and I know frist hand growing up in California, they did not do that in the least.

Sort of like the media blaming the GOP Congress for making illegals felons in their version of the bill when it was the Democratic Congress that put it in there...

Only thing is when illegals are made legal and employers who have been paying them under the table have to start paying benefits a lot of them look for more illegals to take their place.

This is a real circular situation, which is why it's not getting any better. We have a lot of high-end boat manufacturers here locally -- boats selling in six figures -- and they used to pay a very good wage to their employees... then they discovered they could hire illegals under the table and it has spread throughout, now putting a lot of people out of good-paying jobs..

These illegals have also introduced Meth and other drugs into these facilities and throughout our town. There is a local realtor who brags openly about making her fortune selling houses to illegals and how she doesn't care because when things top out she will move somewhere else.

Our's is but one of many locations in Arizona that has private homes being used as drop houses for illegals, one person I know who lives not far from me lived next to one such house, the issues she had to deal with while the Police looked the other way was unconscionable, When we had Neighborhood Watch meeting and mentioned stuff like cars coming and going into the backyard of that house in the middle of the night the officer freely said it was a drop house -- it was raided two months later..

Too bad that many conservatives have become the useful idiots.

There is a very large, very radical group of criminal thugs across America that illegally snuck across our wide open southern border. More are streaming across as we speak. These people need to be 'taken care of' muy pronto.

The POTUS has, not only the constitutional authority but, the DUTY to act. He could close the border down with the stroke of a pen but refuses to do so.

I am appalled at this dereliction of duty. If that makes me a useful idiot then so be it!

"Mr. President, close the damned border!"
