U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

The dead illegal over the weekend was his own doing by his own gun. As for the mayhem caused by the illegal you can start reading here. As for advocating intentional violence, I've only seen what I would call kook fringe stuff like landmines etc. Those I ignore. But after reading the linked material I realized that we must all have a fuse, some are shorter than others.

Here you go -

Between murders of Americans and killing by drunk drivers of Americans - by illegal aliens - over 10,000 Americans total are killed by those illegals each year.

Killing all those American citizens that Americans just won't kill......

All I can think of is that this is just another step in the march towards civil war in this country.

Someday soon, our idiotic govt is gonna push the wrong button on someone, and the crap is going to hit the fan. Chaos will escalate rapidly. Citizens will find themselves in the middle of the biggest battle since Gettysburg.

Man! I need to calm down.

Which is wrong, wrong, wrong! How much of our Law Enforcement Officers are murdered each year by illegal aliens?

Please all one needs is a cheap pair of binoculars where people are sitting along the border in lawnchairs.

If that's all that is needed, then why is our government using money and manpower to inform the Mexican government?

"please all tom tancredo cares about is keeping funds flowing into his and bay buchannon's PAC."

Maybe, but at least he's making more noise about this issue than the other tow parties, and Tancredo is getting all of the money I might have given to the GOP - and he will until I see a different tact on the GOP agenda.

Somewhat unaware but not totally unaware. If he's indeed totally unaware he should have never been elected

Unaware or not, this is just plain WRONG. As president, he should be making sure nothing of this sort would EVER happen regardless of what anyone thought. There is something seriously wrong here.

The signal was very clear around about 50 or 60 posts ago.

You know what, I give up. I think I'll just let the Bushbots have their way. After the country is Balkanized they'll just blame it on the Democrats and RINOs.

That has nothing to do with the statement I replied to, nor with the statement I made.

But, unlike the statements being bandied about, it has everything to do with what's really going on in this mess.

Bottom line: if you participate in an arrest, your participation is public knowledge. Deal with it.

Perhaps you have a comprehension problem. Your statement has absolutely nothing to do with what Dane said or what I said in response.

BP Apps are not arrests and are not public knowledge.

Yep. Invade and shut down. On the other thread some are trying to prove the story is false, and that this is a ploy by the marxist to mislead us all. Lololol Ain't that a hoot.

Some are checking it out and are in the process of verifying it is a true and accurate story.

It amazes me the depths they will stoop to to protect Bush.
