U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

A lot of bozos on this forum are acting like Bush is somehow vindicated on his immigration stance if this turns out to be true, hoping that others might be stupid enough to believe them.

No. We're marveling at the bozos who were ranting and raving at Bush over something that is not happening.

Those idiots who got banned in the process, I'll bet, have a very bad hangover from a phony story.

I'm very concerned that Pederson is gaining on Kyl. Someone posted here that Hayworth is in trouble, I hope not because a lot of us really wanted him to run for Gov and IMHO he could have given her a run for her money and she wouldn't be 30 points ahead and vetoing everything they send her to sign.

.....I was thinking the same thing. I would expect the Border Patrol to deny something that ghastly whether it was true or not......

like this denial in 2004?

Last week, Homeland Security border security chief Robert Bonner claimed the Department of Homeland Security was exploring ways in which the department might incorporate civilians into its Border Patrol operation. A day later a spokesman for DHS denied that any plans were being drawn up for an official civilian program through the department.

What happens in July if the Socialist, Communist buddy of Castro and Chavez wins? He hates the USA and who knows what he will do to our oil supplies... Chavez is running low and buying from Russia to meet his contracts, maybe his new buddy in Mexico City will take up the slack for Hugo???

I've got to disagree with you there sinkspur. In fact, most of them are probably still posting on this site using other names. They've shown long ago they aren't interested in facts. They post nothing but rhetoric and do little more than stir up mud and emotions. Like the media, they could not care less whether or not this story is true. It served its purpose. Now they drive on.

Oh, has he stopped the flow of criminals over our border? I must have been asleep.

Our government leaders that refuses to enforce this nations borders, refuses to prosecute illegal entry, and refuses to deport same even as they march illegally in the streets..

The 'D's and 'R's that support this invasion couldn't care less about America. It is something that you either stand for or you don't, and they don't. They're either looking at a balance sheet or their manifesto- either way, they don't want America, the real America to stand in their way.

Guess what: '06 and '08 will turn the world up-side down on these stinking pukes. My dad didn't fight WWII so we could turn this country over to communists or globalists. Warning to both camps: Don't screw with Roy Rodgers.

Pay attention. The US is NOT tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols, as the title of this thread indicates. And there are lots of long faces on those who so wanted this to be true.

There was a thread this morning about this subject and it's disappeared. I'm just curious because I don't typically see threads just go away. And when I look in my pings, they are all gone too.

But I had freepmail about it and this was the name of the thread:

Yeah, you guys are so blessed to have JD. He is great and could really make a difference. I find it hard to believe he would be in trouble, unless of course one of two things: there are illegals overwhelming the voting booths or that there are just so many liberal Californians that moved to that area that they are trying to take out a darn good Republican. Wish I could send my vote his way.

Good luck with the hard push to run the Democrats and their nasty laws and politics out of your state!! It's a darn good state and it is getting very complicated and slaughtered by all these illegals. I'll send prayers your way!

Over 6 million illegal aliens have been expelled from the U.S. since Bush took office - how much more would you demand? Also, did you even vote for Bush?

No kidding. While the OBL folks act like the administration is vindicated by the mere denial of this story by the Border Patrol, the much larger problem remains untouched.
