Amounts to a discount, right? Having known some grads from an excellent prep school, I watched them get acceptances from hotshot universities--complete with scholarships that they could boast about. Usually it just amounted to a 30% discount--a flattering sop, IMO, and a means to wangle an acceptance. "We want you so much we'll give you a markdown...er...scholarship."
Some of their classmates were wise enough to take the "full ride" to less prestigious state universities.
