What I dont get about the immigration issue is its been exactly the same for 20 years or so...why get upset now?Because so many people from StormFront joined FR to drive the discussion?

I think, fwiw, that there are some very canny operatives that understand the nature of change within the Republican party and intend to exploit it to meet their own agenda. People like Buchanan, Huffington, Brock and Sullivan just to name a few. There are many, many more. Each is hell bent of helping the left for one reason or the other.
They are simply stirring the pot (on lots of levels) to reveal the natural in-party tensions between the old and new activists, the religious and fiscal conservatives, business owners and middle income employees, Pragmatists and perfectionists...etc.
Every party has them, but since things are so evenly divided in the country due to gerrymandering safe districts everywhere, the only way to win is divide and conquer. And that goes for our team as well...so I don't want to just pick on the other side in this.
If you want to see serious and significant change in this country...it's not getting rid of money (which won't happen because it's just driven underground with regulation), it's not imposing term limits (which just give Wilson/Plame/Clark-type bureaucrats greater control) it would be chopping the country up into reasonable squares instead of obscenely rigged millionagons that create a permanent ruling class.
