If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

What's the point of writing to people who are just going to respond with some sappy patronizing spin-filled letter without changing their policies? That's not called "being responsive." That's called patronizing you and trying to keep your vote while betraying Republican principles.

Medicare prescription drug benefit? Growing deficits? Pork-filled bills? No ANWR oil drilling? No Social Security reform? No immigration bill? No border security? More bureaucracy?

I think the Democratic Congress can be just as "responsive" as that. Except maybe Bush would have the guts to veto them, which he clearly doesn't with respect to "Republican" leadership.

I used to defend the President and this party at all costs, but it's becoming increasingly more difficult to do. And that's their own fault.

The answer isn't to put anti-American, anti-soldier democrats in office....it is to put more conservative republicans in office.

Rationality rules here obviously. I can't wait to see the whining then. I don't agree with every conservative or with the President all the time but I'm certainly not going to pull my gun out and shoot myself in the foot because my head hurts. Third party vote? P***ing in the wind. Staying home? There's a person with conviction. It sounds like if it isn't easy, to hell with it. Sometimes you have to work with people of all types and accomplish the best that you can. If not, take your toys and go home. Maybe mommy will give you a sugar-tit and a blankie. We elected a President, not a dictator and even he is constrained to do the best he can with what he's got. Crippling him some more with a dem congress will certainly get all of you nay-sayers what you want.

I will vote REPUBLICAN and work as hard as I can to make sure the REPUBLICAN agenda moves forward with as much progress as possible.

The point of this post is, as disappointed as you are with Bush, it could get a lot worse with the party of Howard Dean.

In the last year, we've had Dick Durbin compare our soldier in Gtmo to Nazis. We've had an entire glee club that chattters joyfully every time something goes wrong in Iraq. Now we'll allow these people to control a major branch of our government.

No Republican president has ever governed strictly by Republican principles. Ronald Reagan in his last term RASIED taxes. Know why? Because a Democratic House forced him to.

Some of the items in your reply I have to respond to.

"No ANWR oil drilling?"

The US House passed a bill allowing ANWR drilling.

"No immigration bill?" The US House passed a bill on immigration making it a felony to be here illegally.

"No border security?"

The number of border patrol agents has increased something like 40% since Bush came to power (he didn't veto it). There has been electronic devices put along both the northern and southern borders to be able to tell where the illegals are coming accross at. Also, millions have been deported back home.

Don't you know that you are OBLIGATED to vote for Republicans who completely ignore you? Don't you know that Republicans are entitled to YOUR vote?

Seriously, maybe the Republican Party would change change for the better if they didn't have so many sycophants readily available to make excuses for them and to inform us all that they are relatively infallible.

Vote based on conservatism, not based on loyalty to a party that spits in your face.
