"I didn't see anyone bash Bush but, since you brought it up, don't you find this a little wasteful?"

Ugh I am getting so tired of listening to kneejerk whiners on this website.

Could you please point out the specific waste here? What system is overpriced? What part of the aircraft is going to be sold for outrageously more than it cost to research, develop or manufacture?

Here let me answer the questions for you...

"I don't know."

Then how in the hell can you whine that anything about this is wasteful?

Shut up you twit.

"Do we need 27?"

Apparently someone infinitely more qualified than you has decided that we do.

Likewise.

People outside of aviation, military aviation particularly, don't understand that this is the purchase of a system, not just 27 individual choppers. They don't see the cost for training, logistics & spares, depot maintenance, etc. Plus this is an airframe we don't currently deploy which means everything must be put in place from scratch.

I'd like to hear their howling if they could see the price before offsets.

It is the right--if not the duty--of every taxpayer to question any expense bythe government. After all, it our money they are spending.

Any knee-jerk reaction seems to be attacking those who simply ask questions.
