I read that at least five other CIA Directors were military, including a Rear Admiral as the first Director.
My father was career Air Force and it just burns me that Chambliss basically was saying that military just aren't competent to do the job.
I heard Chambliss but Hoekstra was worse. The others WERE military (but I think not Active Military). Still there's nothing in the Law against Active Military serving. I think the subtext here, is "We don't want the CIA director subservient to Rumsfeld"... When our side acts as sinners giving the DUmmies ammo, it really ticks me off (and that's saying it mildly).
