Tried it in both my Silverado and my Corvette. It works and it extends the life of the tires as well. COSTCO will deflate them and reinflate them with Nitrogen if you are a member.

My sister and I bought tires for our cars 1-1/2 + years ago and our Costco used nitrogen back then and said the same thing.

"The nitrogen isn't free. The charge is $40 to replace compressed air with nitrogen in the tires, and an additional $12 covers cost of a kit that includes special, double-sealing valve stem caps."
So It cost the guy $62 to get 2 mpg better fuel mileage on his car, and really the main advantage was that nitrogen leaks out slower, so he didn't have to monitor the pressure as diligently as with regualar air. I wonder what his net gain or loss was on the deal.

I use a mixture of roughly 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen. It's not that pure really, but you can get a great deal if you look around.

Also- change the air..it may be stale?? Jake

I inflate my tyres with water. The ride is a bit rough, but it's easy to tell when there's a leak.

The nitrogen isn't free. The charge is $40 to replace compressed air with nitrogen in the tires, and an additional $12 covers cost of a kit that includes special, double-sealing valve stem caps. WHAT?? OK, I average $20 a week in gas, which comes to about $1000 a year. Saving 2 1/2 percent means a savings of $25 a year.
No thanks, you can get the same results checking your tires once a month and filling them with air.

No way, how about hydrogen! Only problem would be if you had to hit the brakes and lock up the tires, they might explode from the heat. :^)

Do you know how much nitrogen comprises the air you breath? Jeez, what was it Mister Barnum said?

I fill my tires with nitrous oxide --- that way when I get a flat, I can just laugh about it...

Nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen's, so they do not leak as quickly through the tire. Pressure won't have to be checked monthly more like every six months and Kornely's service staff will top off nitrogen customers' low tires at no charge. If this is true, your tires will naturally create a higher concentration of nitrogen as time goes on.
