I don't know, this sure isn't what I bargained for. Open borders, trillion dollar deficits, still, abortion on demand.

The best thing Bush has going for him is the hatred of the MSM. Americans hate the media even more than Bush's failures.

Still, I'm leaning toward the Constitutional Party in November. Throwing my vote away? What difference does it really make?

Good. Now that we all know you're leaving, for the love of God, PLEASE stop telling us about it.

Wait. I disagree with the President on a LOT of things, but how can you possibly blame him for the continuation of "abortion on demand"? He signed the partial birth abortion ban, and he put in 2 good SC Justices.

He cannot put forth an edict banning abortions.

Might as well make you a Hillary in '08 block captain.

These sorts of articles, which are nothing more than the Dems trying to drive a wedge between Republicans, have been turning up all over the place of late, probably beginning with the ports issue. FReepers have to be smart enough to spot them for what they are.

""I don't know, this sure isn't what I bargained for. Open borders, trillion dollar deficits, still, abortion on demand.""

one we dont have trillion dollar deficits, so lets jettison that hyperbole right now

you actually thought that Bush was going to outlaw abortion on demand...do you understand how the SCOTUS works..fist there has to be a case befroe they can overturn ROE...after ROE is overturned, over 1/2 the american people will live in states where abortion is as easily acccessable as it is today.

but your statement is instructive....conservatives are purists and expect far too much from their elected leaders.

You'll see if the Dems get power, things can always be worse. I am not very happy about a lot of things, but I have no doubt things are much better now than if the 'Rats had power.

"Still, I'm leaning toward the Constitutional Party in November. Throwing my vote away? What difference does it really make?"

I'm leaning on voting for a 3rd party candidate too. Maybe it's the times we live in, or maybe all politicians have always been liars and self-serving buffoons. But after having voted for Bush in both elections, I've (finally) learned my lession, the Republican Party is only a baby step ahead of the Rat party in terms of honesty, ability, and in taking seriously their campaign promises. Essentially, the parties are identical to one another.

As for me, I discovered who Bush was the day after Terri Schaivo was starved to death, and he made the most startlingly contradictory and paradoxical statement I've ever heard in my life. He said in his speech to the nation: "it is the duty of the strong to protect the weak". Imagine, the most powerful man on earth had the gaul to make that statement after publicly proclaiming several days earlier that he has no power to help Terri. Lying and cowardice are not unique to Democrats.

The President's stand on the illegal-immigration issue is simply amazing to me. He's doing for Mexico what General Santa Ana could only dream of doing.

If you want amnesty elect pelosi.

Gop passed a tough bill in the house. Gop in the house will stop amnesty.

Take out the hurricanes and the war we have a great surplus.

I don't want reid as majority leader when stevens steps down

A vote for the constitution party is a vote to make nancy pelosi commander and cheif.

The dems will impeach bush and cheney.

You sound like housewife gossip.

Housewife "A" says, "my laundry detergent leaves my cloths dingy". Housewife "B" replies I'm leaning toward Wisk or Fab or some other detergent, have you tried it?"

If you can't get a conservative elected in a Republican primary, you'll never get the general electorate to do the same in a general election.

Anyway, I hear the Constitution party is 99 and 44/100% Pure. Maybe you should do your laundry with it.

I'm absolutely with you on this (see tagline). Again, I'll say I'm not a Bush hater at all. I am disappointed at the overall execution of the GOP these last four years and for real conservatives to have a voice they've got to get angry and get mobilized.

Don't consider it a thrown away vote. That's a phrase the party faithful from either side would consider it. And frankly they would like it to be continued to be considered that way. Rather, look to the Framers to see if you can find direction to vote for party over principle. Since you will not be able to, you are voting as they intended. For the person who you believe will represent your views regardless of party affiliation.

Just be honest and vote for the demRats - for that's where it will go....and that means a vote for the UN, the terrorists, the socialists....etc

it's also called cutting off you nose to spite your face - most people learn about this lesson before they get out of diapers

I tend to agree with you. This message board is filled with bushbots and apologists. Bush has been a disapointment to me. He has been bad on spending, has pushed huge new entitlements, and has been a disaster on the borders. A lot of people who spent a lot of time and money getting Republican control of the congress and the White House are pissed off at the type of big goverment faux "conservatism" we've got for our efforts. We've got nothing more than a less bad version of the Democrats in power. The only reason I voted for Bush in 2004 is because Kerry would have been an unmitigated disaster for the country and as bad a job as those in power have done, the Dems are worse. Its hard to keep getting excited about voting for the lesser of two evils. A lot of us are fed up and I hope the Republican elite begin to pay attention to the base and to Conservative values. If they don't they will eventually pay the price.
