Usually with adults past behavior is a barometer for future behavior.
It's not an absolute measure but it is an indicator.
For example when someone is put in for a security clearance the evaluators certainly factor in past behavior, with the heaviest weighting falling on behavior while a responsible adult. This particularly true when one holds a responsible position. Speaker of the House in my mind is a responsible position ! Someone on this thread who was in Newt's district pointed out that Newt not only resigned from the speakership but literally abandoned his congressional seat. That's not responsible mature behavior either ! This is not old news therefore irrelevant. If we discount incidents in a politicians past then Hillary's past radicalism & publicly expressed socialist views are also irrelevant.

Newt has some negatives such as his divorce which was messy, maybe the fact that he had to leav einstead of Bill. He also does not have the look that people seem to need. I think when Bush goes limp on the illegal alien issue there may be a need for a 3rd party and he could fit that role nicely. The GOP would let him get as far as they let Alan Keyes go.

Rice/Gingrich 2008!
He has enough conservative gravitas to make up lack of experience in domestic politics, and she has the charisma to make up for his personal negatives. Let's do it.

If I was the President I would quickly submit an executive order permitting the oil companies to begin developing ANWR and dare the Dems and their extremist handlers to stop him..... While that sounds good no company in their right mind would make the front end investments needed based on an EO. It just wouldn't happen.

[ When I look at the list of potential GOP candidates, I can't think of anyone that has more long-term vision, more drive and energy, and more understanding of how to get things done in the short-term, than Newt. ]
Exactly.. and exactly right.. Pity that the republicans WANT a RINO.. No decent republican is electable.. been that way since the republicans "BORKED" him.. We WILL get a RINO in 08' and we WILL have the best republican party money can buy..
Hillary is a shoe in.. will take a bit of stuffing to get all her toes in the shoe, but its doable.. With the MsM, all of Academia, Oprah and the Harpo'crites, Hollywood, the MsP, and MOST women in her corner(the ditz vote is HUGE).. OH!.. and all the illegal and legal aliens registered to vote, and other massive voter fraud yet to be determined... Yeah the Borg Queen will run the Hive.. the whole freepin Hive.. and the main drone(BILL) in there for good measure.. Those that HATE Hill, LOVE Bill.. Bills approval rating is far above Bush's..
And conservatives generally HATE Newt.. You know; the one guy that could smoke the Hive, kill the Queen.. and castrate the RINOs.. that Newt..

Newt cheated on and dumped 2 wifes, one while she was in the hospital with cancer, the other while the clinton impeachment was going on.Well vote for Hillary....
She stayed true.

Newt has too much baggage,So do I.
I like what Newt has been saying. I'm willing to keep an open mind.

Bush could and should have done that the week after 9-11. Any Rat or RINO envirowacko that would have blocked it would have looked foolish. Dare I say he could have effectively sealed both borders too and the same types that would have screamed "racism" would have looked dumb too.

I think the time has come for the so called "smart" people to back a real conservative for a change. I've voted thier way long enough now it's time for the Bots to return the favor. Newt is the best R candidate around and Newt would make a fine president. Better then fine he would drive the Rats crazy!
Can you really elect somebody that has been married 3 times? How can he really talk about family values as President with that? Just a serious question.

The only mistake I have seen from Newt is that his last name isn't Kennedy. Having had breast cancer surgery, I would not have appreciated having my husband show up at my hospital bed with divorce papers.
He's now on wife #3 and cheated every time.
I would call those a few "mistakes."
No woman in her right mind would vote for him...and it's a shame...but he made the choices.

Newt has baggage, but Hillary has more baggage. The baggage will weigh Hillary further down than it will Newt. Hillary may have more baggage, but Newt will be made to carry hers like some cheap bell boy.

What do you expect from someone who went to NOLA to help the people and brought so many photographers and such that all any of them did was get in the way.

Remember it's all about anti-abortion and immigration...come hell or high water. If that means getting Hitlery and the ultra libs elected to power and puts those issues on the ultra-fast track counter to the desires of the conservative faithful, so be it!LOL! Make sense out of that logic.
Gotta have some logic first, I guess. But I fail to find any.

But you're being naive if you don't think ANY other GOP candidate will receive the same. This next Presidential election is for the whole enchilada. It's gonna be bloody and ugly. I'd much rather have an articulate candidate who can mesmerize the masses and hold their own with the media than a typical politico with the usual lame sound-bites. When a Republican is investigated for jay walking, it's the "crime" that's looked at - when a dem is investigated for a crime - like taking a large bribe - or lying under oath - it's the prosecutor who's looked at... The MSM will give Newt a hard time, but, you're right, they'll give any Republican a hard time.
