The death squads of the sectarian violence are not the same as the insurgency. But a sovereign Iraqi government with the rule of law must clamp down on them just the same.
Bastards, hideous bastards. Code Pink's bastards.
To take pleasure in the death of an enemy is to run counter to the true God.
Thanks for ping & post.

How ironic it would be if someday these "freedom fighters" grabbed him by the neck and recorded it on a cellphone camera.
Books have been written on this very question.
Other Islamics, like the woman in this instance, have demonstrated great compassion and courage - which has often placed their lives in danger, and often resulted in their being slain.
It is almost a certainty that the murder of this journalist - who deserves the title if anyone ever has - was intended as a vivid demonstration of what will happen to any Iraqi who publicly works for a free and cohesive Iraq.
Your son probably had a much better take on this than I ever could - I am far removed from that place.
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family for the loss of your son. May he, and all the fine men and women who have served there and lost their lives in working for the freedom of others - the highest of callings - never, never be forgotten.
May they remain eternally young in the hearts of us who knew them and of them - and in those of generations to come who learn of them.
There's nothing "soothing" about my statement. I was responding to a sentiment wishing that she was in heaven. The intent of my reply was to reinforce that the only route *to* heaven is through Jesus. I was trying to phrase my "doctrinal correction" in a way that wasn't needlessly offensive.
You're right. I was just rambling. Freedom comes at a great cost...
>>It would be improper to try him in a court of law. This is not a man who is a common criminal; he's an enemy committing an act of war against an ally of the United States. He should be shot on sight. And if our guys do happen to capture him and...interrogate him for information before they kill him, so much the better.<<
If he is not killed instead of captured, it would seem to be a case for the Iraqi courts and/or a war crimes trial - not an American civil trial in any case.
