Specter: We can't know if we approve of this classified national security program and of the President's Article II powers, until the Executive branch kowtows to us and tells the Judiciary Committee - including my esteemed colleagues Leahy and Kennedy - everything we want to know about this classified national security program.
So, Senator, you wish to use the safety of the United States in time of war as leverage against the President in order to assuage your ego because they didn't consult with you over a matter of national security? Is that what you're saying?
