The father is an anesthesiologist and probably had more medical training than the paramedics. "even if I put my loved one in more danger." Just who makes that call, the cops? What realy happened here is the guy questioned"authority figures" so they charge him with a felony just to "teach him a leson". How dare he question their authority.

I also noted that the father is a doctor.
Police today are no longer the friendly civil servants
of the past, but now are more and more becoming jackbooted thugs.

That was my first thought too, he probably did have more medical knowledge than anyone on the scene and he questioned their "authority". A lot of the doctors that I know are arrogant my nature, they are trained to be that way, so not sure if that was a factor.
Give the guy a break, he's a father. And since when do they call the parents at the scene of an accident?
And lastly, anesthesiologists make a lot of money. I wonder if anyone who decided to charge this guy was a little calculating, perhaps seeing a $$$ settlement?

Yea, he does have more training in his field. I have been in the fire/EMS service for about 19 years and one of the worst things to ever arrive on an accident scene is a doctor or nurse. They are used to having every thing calm and cool and in a controlled setting. We work in the smashed upside down cars with fuel leaking out and blood dripping down all over the place.
I have jumped guard rails to keep from being crushed by out of control cars. I have had drunks nearly hit the car we were cutting people out of. I have seen cars drive around the barricades when a helicopter was loading a patient.
I have been hit while a family member was screaming at me to save their family member. That just goes with the job. When someone actually starts endangering peoples lives, that is different.

The father is an anesthesiologist and probably had more medical training than the paramedics. You are correct.
