The whole article is creatively constructed on innuendo and alleged association of Goss with other people not actions by Goss himself.

Nothing has changed since Socrates was maliciously accused by demagogues 1300 years ago.

I believe you are right on the mark. Mary McCarthy was the top of the pile they were trying to remove and probably a bunch that didn't get press. Now that that is done, its time to rebuild the remaining organization into what they want.

There are those whining about the loss of "independence" of the CIA under Negroponte and how this consolidates the CIA into the NIA.

Is this a big surprise? Gees, they just had to add another layer of Bureaucracy, this was what they all rushed to do after the 911 commission.

This had to happen, but whether this is a big deal depends on whether the right thinks this is Bush selling out to the CIA traitors. If they think its Bush consolidating control over this bunch, its probably a net plus.

"Nothing has changed since Socrates was maliciously accused by demagogues 1300 years ago."

Hey, Goss would appreciate that comparison. He started life as a Classical scholar at Yale.

This title is about as misleading as:

Bill Clinton has Heart Attack after Oval Office Sex with Monica.

Hillary Wins NY Senate Race After Stealing White House Furniture

He (Goss) started life as a Classical scholar at Yale.

I didn't know...but my comparison of him with Socrates as he was being attacked viciously by the dogs at that time certainly stands.

The analogy is very apt, but I must admit that your headlines are real blockbusters!

LOL!

The article does not add any news compared to the previous McCarthy/Goss/Hayden threads. However, I posted it because I wanted to show you how quickly and uncritically these stories are spread across the Atlantic.

Remember in the US there is a growing minority who finds their news on the blogs. In Europe the bloggers and those who read the blogs are a much smaller minority. The huge majority get all their news from the USA from the MSM (newspapers, TV and radio). Together with the subliminal (and sometimes not so subliminal) propaganda spread by the liberals in Hollywood, no wonder that the European public to a large extent has a warped view of what goes on in the States.

Unreal - the usual suspects such as lowlife Larry Johnson and now the UK rags are running with this scurrilous rumor-mongering. Wonder when they will print THIS: [from anonymous "senior poobah"] "I've heard rumors that Howard Dean diddles little boys, Joe Wilson has unprotected sex with hundreds of gay hookers, and Teddy Kennedy is addicted to methamphetamines." I know, these are just 'rumors' but I think the MSM has an obligation to print them now because they've been talked about......

That is not logical. There is NO WAY to low cycle the resignation of the CIA Director.

Well, there was at least one bit of truth in the article:

Some saw the revolving door as necessary after the CIA failed to uncover Al-Qaeda’s plots and supplied faulty intelligence on the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

The most amazing hypocrisy I see in this is that it was apparently ok for Clinton to have sex in the Oval Office with a tramp while discussing foreign policy with foriegn dignitaries, but now it's a major scandal to have members of the CIA having sex in a hotel with a paid-for hooker on their own time. Go figure.

More like 2,400 years ago...
