De La Hoya beats Mayorga in sixth round, TKO.
Landed to thrown in the 40s percentile for De La Hoya, in the 20s percentile for Mayorga.
De La Hoya scores a KO in the first round, another KO in the sixth and ref calls a finish for Mayorga with a third KO.
De La Hoya gave that big mouth clown a boxing lesson.
De La Hoya = Class.
Good for him.
20 months out of the ring too. Great fight. Worth the fifty bucks.

Was it just me, or did anyone else see Mayorga crying when he left the ring?
I can always wait a week and see it on HBO....I just can't throw down money on boxing anymore. These guys today are too eccentric. I'm fed up with angry boxers. The best fights are always the ones where both fighters keep their cool until fight night.
Yeah that's what I thought.
He should go in the UFC. He wouldnt make it past round 1 against UFC's worst.
Not really, but I won't publically slander the man here.
That is a different scene. I appreciate both sides, as I have wrestled and kickboxed. However if you look at the quality of competitors there is a giant mismatch. A boxer can spar 4 or 5 days a week. He can accurately fight at his sport and become proficiet. The same applies to a wrestler. You can train for years and attain a level of performance than an amateur could only dream of.
The more violent the sport, Mui Tai, UFC, etc... the less proficiet the competitor. If your sport contains trapping your opponents head to the mat and elbowing his skull, there is only so much you can train. The fights are more entertaining to watch for their unpredictability and gore, but the athletes are vastly different in calibur. One more thing;
OOOSSSCCCAAARRR DDDEEYYY LLLAAA HHHOOOYYYAAA!!!!!
Did anyone catch the immigration issue here?
Prior to the fight, DLH had an anti HR (I forget the number, but you know the one) He has spoken up for immigrant rights, whatever that means, and as a Latino boxer celebrity he may have reason not to be a Big Fence supporter.
The commentator also pointed out that his parents entered illegally, but applied while here and became naturalized citizens. He wants all Latinos to learn to speak English. Immigration with blending into our melting pot is an awesome force in our culture and has done us well. Multiculturalism has to go for a dirt nap.
Not kidding, he is a sponsor, mentioned on the website
