In the Stand spot, Westly says, Im Steve Westly before I ask for your vote, I owe it to you to tell you where I stand. Im strongly pro-choice and I believe protecting our environment is fundamental. As governor, Ill make education my top priority. Then the announcer adds, Steve Westly. Require big corporations to provide adequate health insurance, expand the Healthy Families Program, incentives for hybrid vehicles and solar energy, stop any new offshore drilling.
Steve Westly is proud to have won endorsements from a diverse array of people and organizations including the Sierra Club, the United Farm Workers of America,...

LOS ANGELES Controller Steve Westlys campaign for Governor today launched a new 30-second TV spot featuring Westly addressing Spanish-speaking voters in Spanish. The ad, Nuestro futuro, is set for an initial run in the Los Angeles media market and then expand to other markets in the coming weeks.
Spanish-speaking voters will play a critical role in deciding the outcome of the coming election, said Westly, a former Stanford educator and Silicon Valley high-tech innovator. Thats why Im reaching out to Spanish speakers directly to share my vision for a brighter future for our State.
In Nuestro futuro, Westly tells voters in Spanish: Im Steve Westly. Like many of you, my children go to public school. My wife Anita came here as an immigrant and with the help of public education, built a better life. To me, education is more than an issue its the foundation of our future. Following Westly, the announcer says, Steve Westly. As Governor, hell fully fund education, invest in teacher training, and after-school programs and make community college tuition free so everyone has the opportunity to go to college. Steve Westly. Democrat. Governor.
Over the course of my campaign, I will aggressively reach out to Spanish-speaking and Latino voters on the airwaves, in print, in person, in English and in Spanish, said Westly, whose campaign for Governor is co-chaired by U.S. Rep. Grace Napolitano, Chairwoman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and State Senator Martha Escutia, Chairwoman of the States Legislative Latino Caucus.
I believe the economic empowerment of both Latinos and immigrants is critical to Californias economic vitality and as Governor, I will make this a priority, Westly added.
Last year, to defeat Governor Schwarzeneggers special election initiatives, Westly aired a 30-second commercial which featured him speaking Spanish for the full length of the ad, a first in California for a non-Latino candidate according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Sounds like typical Communist rhetoric to me....
Sounds like a doctrinaire Marxist.
BUMP!
Yes, indeed Westly is a communist/Marxist in Dem clothing -- claiming to be a "moderate" --that's a laugh.
I saw his T V ad. He represents everything I am AGAINST!
That's why we have to make sure that Arnold gets reelected, instead of allowing Angelides or Westly take over. Between a socialist Dem governor and an overwhelmingly Dem Legislature, they would reverse what Arnold started and totally destroy CA.
