The answer here is stone simple - implement border security and hold off changing immigration laws until we have better border security. Even folks who are in favor of amnesty, such as Krauthammer, have said that. Why is it so hard for folks to realize that ANY effort to deal with the illegals already here will be doomed to failure until we control our borders? Why does Bush and certain elements of the GOP seek to continue down the path to political destruction by ignoring the obvious?
Good points, dirtboy - but, why is it that they do ignore the obvious?
I wonder what would be lost, politically, if a wall did go up? It would save a lot of lives and bring order to chaos.
