A world where Pelosi is majority leader, shudder, shudder. And I don't even want to think of hillary clinton in the white house, spare the thought.

I will hold my nose and vote Republican (RINO even) if only to try to protect the military from the cut and run bunch.
After all their sacrifice and with victory ahead, sitting home or (shudder) voting rat amounts to spitting in the eye of our hero's. IMHO

Pelosi as leader isn't nearly so frightening as Henry Waxman with supoena power, becoming chairman of the committee that will most assuredly impeach President Bush.

I guess they are hoping for a slingshot effect where the nation rises in horrified outrage at being governed by Left Pelosi and the Gang That Can't Even Shoot Heroin Straight. It's dumb theory, because we would have at least two years of the worst these wankers could dish out to endure first before they were sent packing.

I've said this on other threads, but why are we adopting democrat scare tactics? The politicians aren't listening to the voters on the issue of immigration. When polls consitently show 70%-80% of the country wants tough immigration enforcement, how can the GOP supporting amnesty translate into a winning strategy in upcoming elections? We can't expect people to simply rubber stamp whatever GOP candidate is on the ballot. Unless clear, substantive policies are proposed, conservative apathy with the party status quo will let the dems take control. And then you have the GOP spending like drunken sailors on leave and expanding government at the fastest rate yet.
The whole idea of telling people how scary it will be (and I agree it is scary) if the Dems win will not generate votes in the ballot box. All it is doing is showing that the GOP leadership knows there will be a voter backlash and they aren't willing to change course with policies people want. Instead, they are trying to scare people into supporting them because they intend no change in current policies.

Ah, the media seems to be doing its job of sowing discontent among the Republican base. Depress turnout and the Dems take the House and start the impeachment process againt Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. Granted they'll meet the same fate as Clinton's in the Senate, but the deed will be done and the media gets a new drum to bang until 2008. Wake up, suckers! You're being played for fools. This notion of "burn down the house so we can rebuild later" is idiotic. "Repair the house" is a better option, IMHO.

A world where Pelosi is majority leader AND John Conyers will head the Judiciary Committee...too horrible to contemplate.
