Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy said yesterday that he is entering treatment for an addiction to prescription medications, an announcement that comes as police continue their investigation into a car crash involving the congressman near the Capitol.
Calling his addiction a "chronic disease," Kennedy said he does not even recall the accident, which occurred early Thursday and raised questions about his behavior and how U.S. Capitol Police deal with members of Congress.
The congressman's office has said Kennedy (D-R.I.) was disoriented behind the wheel because he had taken prescription medication to calm stomach inflammation and to help him sleep. No one was injured in the crash, but Kennedy almost hit a Capitol Police car head-on before slamming into a security barrier, authorities said.
Kennedy, 38, said yesterday that he has been battling problems with addiction and depression since he was a young man and that he will seek immediate treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He was a patient there during Congress's winter break, he said, and thought he had returned to Washington "reinvigorated and healthy."...."

I saw that too. The media will take the clinic explanation and let that go, but Kennedy is screwed as far as a Senate seat goesI wouldn't jump to that conclusion.
The sheeple are stupid.

"...But now she sees that for the white boy, supervisors stepped in, relieving the officers at the scene and driving the staggering Kennedy home..."
The Kennedys are not the only ones who will sometimes get favorable police attention. Years ago as a cab driver, I was dispatched to a church parking lot in the wee hours of the morning.
There, Montgomery County MD police were securing the doors on a late model Jag while others were walking a very inebriated gentleman wearing a nicely fitted suit toward my taxi...

Do any of them know what they are voting for?. Most let their aides read the bills and give a thumbs up or thumbs down, some of them just let Fat Ted or Bug-eyes Pelosi tell them what to do.
They havent time to read bills they are too busy going to dinner with lobbyists ,taking trips at the taxpayers expense, sleeping with their secretaries, or partying down at the hawk and dove.

When a Kennedy reaches the age of 38 and has no record of rape and no stories of gratuitous sex you start to wonder.

Not to knock the Mayo Clinic, but they aren't really known as a center for treating drug/alcohol abuse. Perhaps the Kennedy's want to use treatment at the Mayo Clinic to signal that Patrick is "sick" and not just an addict in need of rehab.

Patrick Kennedy is single. How's he going to attract a wife when he is running around swilling booze, popping pills, and lying? Great catch there, not.

Somehow this guy needs to be pitied.
How else could he have turned out except to be a drunk and dope user.
His drunken philandering father was not the worlds best example to follow.
Poor old Paddy was just trying to follow in his fathers footsteps.

Anyone hear the graciousness of both Rush and Sean yesterday? Let's compare that to the vile comments made by EVERYONE when Rush announced he was going into rehab.
Just my take on this - Rush Limbaugh has claimed all along this was a political witch hunt by an overzealous prosecutor. With Patrick Kennedy going into rehab with no charges pending, no subpoenas for his doctors, no search warrants, Rush Limbaugh has been vindicated, yet again.

Yes, he's a liar who couldn't even get the basics of his story straight - did he not have enough rapid assistance from Teddy's Chappaquiddick team??? As I posted on another thread:
"Kennedy has said that he did not ask for special treatment"
Every time I've seen this statement in an article I want to scream. These reporters are all such biased DOLTs, they don't ask the most obvious question. Patsy Kennedy also claims he remembers nothing of the episode, not even driving his car. Why don't any of the MSM pick up on this glaring, staggering contradiction??? He wants it both ways: (1) assure the public that he never asked for any special treatment, and (2) pretend it was some kind of conflict of medications producing such a blackout that he has no memories.
So which is it Patsy, are you lying when you say you don't remember anything at all or are you lying when you assert that you know (i.e., REMEMBER) that you did not ask for any special treatment???

The first night this came out, didn't the guy say he had absolutely no alcohol that evening? Now the latest lie is ,the whole night is a blank and he can't even remember getting out of bed. .......hmmmmmm, a convenient excuse that lawyers will often tell clients IS, ''just say you don't recall''!Seems to me its going to come out that he was smashed that night. He could've killed somebody and this guy should not be a congress person!
