It doesn't happen with every nomination, but with this nomination, the Roberts nomination, Dr. Rice's nomination, etc., the quality of people nominated is incredible. If it wasn't for the couple of goofs (like the Harriet Myers nomination), I think people would widely credit the Bush administration as having some of the most competent people ever nominated (though they are still not close to being as good as the founders).

America never had as great a political thinker and statesman as Alexander Hamilton and his services to the Nation have been continuously downplayed and distorted by a pack of lying Leftist limosine liberals who vaunt his duplicitous shortsighted opponent, Thomas Jefferson.
He is among the three greatest Americans with Washington and Lincoln.

Don't idealize the Founders. Knox, the secretary of the Army, was a good officer but Washington actually handled military matters, including negotiations with the Indians. Randolph, Jefferson successor , was as perfidious as Jefferson himself but clumsier. The members of the supreme court were a wash.
