"America never had as great a political thinker and statesman as Alexander Hamilton and his services to the Nation have been continuously downplayed and distorted by a pack of lying Leftist limosine liberals who vaunt his duplicitous shortsighted opponent, Thomas Jefferson.

He is among the three greatest Americans with Washington and Lincoln."

Interesting statement. I agree that Hamilton was great, and as you say, of course he's being attacked by the Left. Personally, I always liked Grant as number three.

It's a difficult comparison of course. Grant did more than anyone except Lincoln to save the nation in its most dangerous hour. Hamilton helped build the very foundation of the nation itself.

While some people would think consideration of such an issue absurd, I would actually like to see a discussion on this point by two people who knew enough to do it. Personally, I don't know enough about Hamilton to make a real comparison.

"I can't wait to hear what Hitlery and Schumer have to say."

I'll bet on Hillary's statement right now---nothing.

"Even though Goss had a good reputation, I don't think any Republican Congressmen nowadays have the balls to get anything done over the objections of the Democrats. Maybe a conservative military guy will be braver."

I think this is an unfair evaluation of Goss. He created quite a brouhaha in my opinion.

"mostly because the local GOP groups have RINO party hacks running them, probably connected to party hacks in Tallahassee."

Funny to hear that. I didn't last long in local Republican politics, so I can't say for sure, but it looks the same in PA. We had this great candidate for governor, Bill Scranton, son of a former PA governor. A really solid conservative with all kinds of specific ideas for how to get Pennsylvania out of the economic and ditch. Not only lowering taxes, but changing the laws on how write-offs are made, etc.

But every state committee in the state ended up supporting Lynn Swann, a guy who was a great football player, admittedly, but has really said nothing about what he wants to do as governor. (all I know about him so for is that he is Pro Life and he supports building a new hockey stadium for the Penguins.) Scranton bowed out. I believe the majority of Republican legislators and politicians in Pennsylvania are fundamentally in cahoots with the Democrats. There're a few good ones who speak out, but that really doesn't make much of a difference.

I didn't know that.

Good for him, then.

"Putting Hayden in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee for a confirmation hearing would be akin to waving a red flag in front of a bull. Democrats would jump at the chance to rip Hayden alive during nationally-televised hearings in a way that would make the Alito hearings look like a prayer breakfast."

Hayden has proved he can articulate and defend the NSA program with great skill. Yes, some of the 'Rats are likely to go beserk (smear, distort, rage, babble) in the hearings (if indeed Hayden's the nominee). But that could hugely backfire on them, unless the Republicans are even more spineless than usual, since there will also be ample, ample opportunities to lay out for the public the justifications for such a program and the ways in which the 'Rats are NOT interested in truly defending our national security. I agree that there's some risk the hearing could backfire on the WH, but I think it's far more likely that they can be used to correct a lot of the public record and misperceptions. Yeah, I know that the MSM will spin it like crazy to help the 'Rats, but with the Internet and Fox News, etc. there's at least a strong chance that the real facts will get out. The greatest difficulty lies with how much cannot be discussed in public if we wish (of course) to preserve any semblance of intel programs going forward...... but the traitors at the NY Slimes have already put the main info into the public domain (and thus into the hands of Al Qaeda) without any such hearings.

I don't know if this has changed, but during the Cold War, I was amazed to read that the Russian section of the CIA was filled with people who were basically pro-Russian.

As is the case with the State Department, which is filled with people who are basically anti-American. Most "ambassadors" seem to think that they represent the interests of their assigned countries over those of the USA. How this happens, I have not the slightest understanding. But they are all "enemies domestic" to be sure.

Thanks for the info - we won't blame you for being promoted during the Clintonista era, and I don't think we should blame Hayden either, from what I know of him so far. AFter all, there had to be SOME good people promoted in the '90s - the military branches could never have had enough Clintonista wannabes to fill all the promotion lists, right? I don't think so!

Anyone who is a around 0-3 and up right now, served under the Clintons.

I don't know many who liked it very much, but their love of country superseded their loathing of the Commander in Chief!

This is encouraging news indeed. I hope he can uncover something concrete re: who is leaking our national secrets to the pressholes in time to make a difference in the November elections. If not, I fear the leftist media campaign of propaganda and lies may take a severe toll on the Rep Party. Voter apathy due to uncertainty or weariness from all the negative press could cause us to lose control of one branch of government.

The revelation and proof that one (or more) of the high level DemRats has been leaking for political gain could help us regain voter confidence among independents, and could anger enough voters against the Dems to derail their plan to gain back the House and then start impeachment proceedings.

Jay is my prime suspect for being at least ONE of the leakers to the media. I hope he gets what's coming to him and no, I don't mean just a slap on the wrist like Sandy Burgler got. I mean prison.

The "housecleaning" should include to the inside of the house, from the cellar to the rooftop, and if it requires removing a few recent additions by jackleg carpenters that the Bush household hired in the first place, so be it. But replacing one man isn't going to change a damn thing. At best, it's a publicity stunt. At worst, it's too little, too late.

Thanks for the ping.

That pic of the General looks like the cat that just ate the canary. I wonder what he might have in mind for the CIA, heheh.
