It appears so. I just caught the tailend of Kennedy's press conference on CNBC.
Despite my dislike of anything Kennedy-related, I wish him well in rehab.
Drug addiction, for whatever reason, is a terrible thing and I hope he overcomes it.
"DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"
Teddy K: "Heh heh heh heh"
Love ya Howie, Love ya!!
Heads up to Mass. listeners: Howie will also be on WCRN AM 830 in Worcester starting next Monday.
It looks like the Red Sox are making WRKO their flagship station as of next year. That might mean part of Howie's
show could be pre-empted on WRKO! In that case people could
hear him on WCRN instead.
"It looks like Patches is heading to rehab, and good luck to him, but he's getting off easy here..."--Howie. "Rush never put himself in danger. Patches coulda killed somebody"
"Now we know why he was rushing to the CVS Pharmacy, now that he's admitted" the prescription drug deal...
Howie will be on Inside Edition tonight and Fox and Friends tomorrow about 8:20 am...being all over the place
That's the rehab place with the *revolving door*, isn't it?
Ha! Poll results (Howie's poll) so far:
Do you believe Congressman Patrick Kennedy's explanation for the car accident he had at the Capito in the wee hours of Thursday morning?
Yes 2%
No 98%
He is claiming a drug addiction and checking into Rehab. How nice. How convenient. I understand (I think I heard Rush say this) that one news outlet has come up with a copy of his bar bill from Wednesday night at Hawks and Doves. How does he explain that? And if he does explain it, should we believe it (rhetorical question, not needing an answer)?
New lineup for WCRN AM 830 Worcester as of Monday:

"He is claiming a drug addiction and checking into Rehab. How nice. How convenient."
Guess the choice was jail or rehab. IMHO, he's going to rehab for the wrong addiction. I'm not buying this for one second. I want the name of the person who ordered that Patches NOT be given sobriety tests and to just take him home.
The Swimmer's written statement is about how proud he is of Patches and supports the efforts of his courageous son to get help.
Kennedys make me so totally sick...
"Patches thought quatro de mayo was cinco de mayo"
"Which DC cop was in more danger, the one hit by McKinney but the one who almost got hit by his car?"
Cinco de MAYO CLINIC!
I wonder if he will keep his job. I'll bet he does. The Kennedy's get away with all kinds of crimes.
Also, for all the times they've called President Bush a drunk and Rush a druggie, the spin on this will be priceless. He's 2 for 2. Addicted to both.
"I don't remember getting out of bed, getting pulled over by the police, or getting cited for three motor vehicle violations. That's now how I want to live my life and that's not how I want to represent the people of Rhode Island"
--Patrick Kennedy (clip just played on Howie)
Howie: (Michael Savage-like tone): "He's a VIIIIICTIM!"
oops that's NOT how I want to live my life, that should say! I was typing that as it was airing, oops! (That's what happens when you type so fast)
Why isn't Patches being Limbaughed?
Nobody need reply. I know why.
The spin has already begun. It is now Ambien which will be judged guilty for this and not Patches irresponsibility. I didn't watch the presser. Did he bite his lower lip? Did a tear go down his cheek? This is such a put-up job. At least he didn't kill someone THIS time. The nut doesn't fall far from the tree.
Ya know how you get to be a drug addict? About 90% of them do it to themselves. Oh they use excuses about pain and not sleeping and all that crap. A few probably are telling the truth, the rest are using it as an excuse.
Several years ato I was eating in Abdou's Big Boy Restaurant in Chicopee outside Westover Air Reserve Base when in walked both Massachusetts Senators. Senator Tsongas walked up to my booth and extended his hand. I continued to eat my salad.
"You don't know who I am, do you?" he smiled (because he was running for reelection, I believe. I didn't care because I was then living outside Taxachusetts.)
I chewed and swallowed. "Sure I do!" I countered. "You're Senator Tax-on-Gas!" I then pointed my fork at Kennedy and announced, "And he's Senator Tax on Everything Else!" The place erupted into laughter as those to sorry excuses for leaders slinked out the door.
Yeah, tuck him back in rehab. That's the ticket.
This guy was in rehab last Christmas - and he said he came out and was doing great...
He was NOT doing great. After getting cleaned up he went right back with the pills and booze.
His life is the wreckage of an addict. Until he CLEANS UP -and that means CLEAN AND SOBER - he'll just keep playing the same old record over and over again.
Clean means NO DRINKS - NOT EVEN ONE.
And NO PILLS.
Anything else is just a sham. Just another meaningless "I won't do it again".
Until the next time...
