The report by a U.S. Capitol Police officer said Kennedy, D-R.I., drove his green 1997 Ford Mustang convertible into a security barrier near the Capitol shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, and that Kennedy had red, watery eyes, slurred speech and unsteady balance.

Kennedy said in a statement he had taken a sleeping pill and another drug that can cause drowsiness, but had not been drinking alcohol before the accident. "Apparently, I was disoriented from the medication," Kennedy said. He scheduled a news conference for 3 p.m. EDT Friday in Washington.

The police report described Kennedy as "ability impaired," and listed alcohol influence as a contributing circumstance in the crash.

You may well be right, but at least this time we know the truth about what happened, and that's a small step toward ending the Kennedy clan's exemption from responsibility.

Why won't the DC cops check his debit and credit card history to find out how much he spent on the booze portion of his little sleep driving episode!

A 1997 Ford Mustang convertible. One might think with all the money these turds have they would buy a decent car, at least something not almost 10 years old.

On second thought why take a chance on crashing a new Lexus when you drive home drunk, hitting barriers and running off bridges. I guess they really are thinking ahead.

He's saying he has a "disease."

The reason: he's playing the role of victim of a terrible disease. This deflects blame and makes it not his fault. Drunks use any and every excuse that might sell.

He has a behavior problem, not a disease. Jail time would help him make the connection between his behavior choices and the consequences.

The archbishop in Phoenix, who protected homosexual priests, ran down a carpenter (an American Indian) killing him. The Very Rev. Archbishop then skipped and pretended:
1. He did not know he hit and killed man;
2. He did not know the police were phoning him and knocking on the door.

He received community service as his alleged punishment. He then insisted that his parole officer come see him instead of going to the PO.

Liddy and Hill were all over themselves doing PR for the archbishop. Said they on KFYI, "He spent his whole life serving others..." ad nauseam

Kennedy Crashes Car Near Capitol

Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) crashed his car near the U.S. Capitol, and a police official said he appeared intoxicated. Kennedy said he was rushing to cast what he hoped would be a decisive vote on a matter of great importance.

Kennedy issued a statement after a volley of news reports stirred interest in the crash. "It is alleged that I was involved in a traffic accident at First and C Street SE near the U.S. Capitol," Kennedy said in his statement. "It has not been conclusively determined whether I was in the vehicle much
less driving it. There is no evidence that I consumed alcohol prior to the incident. I'm working with my lawyers to find the truth."

Kennedy's father, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) asserted that his son was the target of a rightwing witch hunt. "The same administration that is torturing prisoners of war has set its sights on my son," Kennedy complained. "When
police brought him home he had panties on his head and a dog collar around his neck. This is the Bush MO. I am more determined than ever to see this bastard impeached."

A letter written by a Capitol Police officer Greg Baird to Acting Chief Christopher McGaffin said Kennedy appeared to be staggering when he left the vehicle after the 3 a.m. crash. "Representative Kennedy said he was late for a vote," Baird said. "He kept saying he had to vote for Katharine. But the Capitol was dark and no meetings were in session."

Speculation is that it was Katharine McPhee that the young Kennedy was mumbling about. Ms. McPhee is a contestant on the "American Idol" television show.

Kennedy spent time at a drug rehabilitation clinic before he went to Providence College. He has been open about his mental health issues, including the revelation that he has been diagnosed with "moonbat" disorder.
