Hi All- I'm still trying to determine the significance of having a press conference at 4:20 p.m. rather than 3:00 p.m. to discuss a congressman who is a bipolar, alcoholic, and drug-addicted.
Why is this man (with all his demons) in a position where his decisions influence millions of people, anyway?

4:20 is shorthand for marijuana and drug culture. Why? The most likely reason, according to
Wikipedia:
* Snopes.com, High Times magazine, The Marijuana-Logues, and The Straight Dope claim that in the early 1970s, a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California used to meet every day after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue. One piece of evidence supporting an origin of the term from the time 4:20 is the fact that the number is always said "four twenty". This theory is also the most cited, and the most widely accepted.

C'mon you guys. Everyone who's hip knows that 4:20 is the pot-head's code word for toking up after school. With all the "legalize pot" threads on FR, I'd think everyone would know that by now!
