Kenneth G. Chase, a language school owner from Belmont, said Kennedy and not the Republican presidents who launched each war was responsible because he had not insisted on an energy policy that weaned the United States from its dependence on foreign oil.
The nations at war, and the war was easily avoidable, Chase said. If we didnt need the oil, we wouldnt be in Iraq. One man had all the legislative power concentrated in his hands over the past 40 years to ensure we had an energy policy: Ted Kennedy.

I don't like the fact that he's tying our oil problem directly to the two Iraq wars.
Hammer the fat bastard.
Go Chase. Let the other GOP cowards hide in the tall grass.
He's great. Hammer the do nothing dims with victimhood and accusations.
An interesting approach and it is a legitimate question that is the flip side of the incumbency advantage. Incumbents claim (or the constituents assume) that if you don't return them to office, then the new guy will be at the bottom of the food chain. "Vote for me and I'll use my influence to get funding for your ant farm." OTOH, after 40 years the legitimate question is "what have you accomplished with all that power? You've been in office 5 times longer than any president. Where IS our energy policy? Show us the bills; show us the votes. You have a track record, let's examine it."
There's plenty of other murdering dictators aiding terrorism that we haven't invaded. North Korea comes immediately to mind. How come? There are other areas that are more in our immediate interest, and securing an oil supply is one of our highest interests.

Ken Chase with Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey.
You are absolutely correct!
I've said since 1991 that our efforts in Iraq are about oil, or more specifically, the free flow thereof.
I've said for 15 years that oil should have been stated as one of the reasons for going into Iraq. By doing so you take the "evil oil" talking point away from the Leftists.
OK what should people in Massachusetts do? If Chase turns out to be a RINO, is it better to just stay home and let Ted win again - because he probably will anyway? Or is it better to take a RINO now and again for longer term goals - as has been done in Massachusetts before? Waiting to hear from the "real" Conservatives.
I like it!
Sounds like a fun race.
I agree! He's using the Lib talking point lie.
Why Chase for U.S. Senate

Public service for me is not about the trappings of power or building a political machine dedicated to my staying in office. If I can expose the failures of the powerful like Ted Kennedy then Ill be doing a true public service.
In 44 years in office Ted Kennedy has:
Done nothing to liberate us from Middle Eastern oil. This failure led directly to the first gulf war and the current war on terrorism.
Turned a blind eye to 16 million illegal aliens sneaking across the border.
Led the war on poverty. Spent 10 trillion dollars leading the war
and lost the war.
Ted Kennedy has very adroitly made a career out of spending tax dollars on the poor and having his actions portrayed as the essence of caring. Of course, government can and should help our neediest; but I believe welfare should not be a way of life.
Aside from the war on those who seek our demise the greatest challenge we face is the creation of tomorrows industry. Spending our nations wealth has always been a specialty of Ted Kennedy. Creating wealth so that our children have meaningful careers and a high standard of living is a more noble pursuit and an obligation we must accept.
We need to solve our energy needs to avoid future entanglements like Iraq today. Energy independence doesn't just save money...it saves American lives. When it comes to education we need to close the gap with two emergent Asian powers, China and India.
Despite the carefully crafted press releases which emanate from Ted Kennedy's PR department, the senator has been asleep at the wheel when it comes to Energy, Security, Immigration and the education gap. Forty-four years is long enough! Let's get to work not for ourselves, but for our children.

In that first picture where he's speaking behind the podium, he looks like a young Donald Rumsfeld.
He does kind of look like Rumsfield there.
It will be a fun race, because this guy will out class Ted Kennedy, in debate. First of all he is sober.
