Every time we're at my in-laws and my mother-in-law wakes up in the morning it sounds like she is trying to cough a lung up. The only time I've ever felt that is during and right after a bout with bronchitis. So I'm going to assume that she has chronic bronchicial infections, I'm sure that her being a moderate smoker has nothing to do with it.
Well, only took until post 19.
I always hear people say that and I know it's hyperbole, but I always think, hey that'd be really funny to see someone actually cough a lung up.
Like, "Mmmmmmm, a hot meal!"
My grandmother died at ninety-one, the picture of health. The doctor didn't KNOW why she died, other than to say she was old. His GUESS was that she had had a series of mini-strokes that when compounded lead to her death. Nothing nefarious there. A good portion of the time doctors DO guess about the cause of death. They truly are not all-knowing.
