Driving While Kennedy
Doesn't matter if it was drugs, or not. He would still be driving under the influence, or driving while impeded. Maybe it's just a *DWK (Driving While Kennedy, or is it Drunk While Kennedy?) ANYWAY the DWK would be the worst of his offenses.
*props to whomever thought that one up! LOL
I generally drink a couple glasses of red wine nightly as "sleep medicine". So, I'm no different than a Kennedy...
Can someone smarter and more knowlegable of DC geography figure this one out for me...
The police report of this incident is now up on http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0505062kennedy1.html
I can find the location of the Hawk & Dove bar and the Capitol building and also where I believe the indident occurred. What I can't figure out from the report is where Kennedy resides while in DC and whether he was in the right place and heading in the right direction to be travelling from his residence to the Capitol as he claims.
He seemed to be very near to the bar he was allegedly drinking at...would he be travelling west to get from his residence to the Capitol or west to be returning to his residence from said bar?
Also - does sleep driving also involve sleep dressing or was he in pajamas? The Pajama media need some answers!
"Late for a vote" HA! At one time I lived in California. They had 24-hour gun clubs out there. The reason was that if you were ever pulled over, and the police found the gun in your car, your could always say that you were "on your way to the gun club."
Same difference, dontcha think?
Sleep-driving...
Of course it was the sleep medicine's fault. Nothing a Kennedy does is ever their fault now is it? Maybe he's going to tell us that we need a government study to study sleep medicines since this must be a grave problem to this country.
"Cannon acknowledged, however, that there are special rules that allow for special treatment of congressional representatives who are on their way to a vote, which apparently was one of Kennedy's claims."
"Cannon also said that while he had heard from officers that Kennedy has smelled of alcohol, he was not there, and had not seen the official report yet. He said, however, that from other visual signs Kennedy showed, officers could have followed up with a number of field sobriety tests."

He smelled of alcohol. And no wonder he said he was going to vote...

The Kennedy Prayer:
Our Lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
Thy will be drunk,
I will be drunk,
At home as it is in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
and forgive us our spillages,
as we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For Thine is the beer, the bitter, THE lager.
Barman.
I have a problem... if he had unipolar (or Bipolar II,not as much acting out... mostly depression and sleeplessness), he wouldn't even be given these two drugs together... Ambien alone has been pulled for treatment of bipolar (knowing some doctors... they still may have given it). Also, was this the cause of his accident two weeks ago in Rhode Island also?
depression...pills...ambien...pressure...ignorance...not enough counseling...not enough help...not my fault...didn't mean to...i was unaware...don't remember...the Kennedy legacy.
It's still his fault for operating under the influence.
Med's will have instructions telling you not to operate machinery until you know how the drug effects you.
Everyone is just talking about Kennedy here. The watch commander who made Kennedy's problem go away should have criminal charges filed against him as well. Don't let a dirty cop off the hook.
