In other news, it has been reported that the sky is blue, the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, and that the world is round, not flat.

Try to go through threads related to Jewish-Polish relations, and you'll see, that many people don't see it this way.

That's why I think such a statement, given by this organistation is important.

As a young child, living in post-war Germany, my father took me to Auschwitz, Dachau, Andau and Bergen-Belsen. The camps had not quite been "cleaned-up" yet. What I saw there is firmly imprinted in my memory. Those experiences helped form the rather fierce patriot that I am today.

I remember that we had armed Polish guards on our school buses. They looked quite spiffy in their black uniforms, white helmets, white spats and black shiny boots. They were very serious of demeanor (understandably so) but also very kind to this little eight year old girl. (at that time)

Just as many young people will never forget the horrors of 9/11, I will never forget what I saw and lived in Europe at that time.

Terrorists are the same, no matter the era, nor the place.

Oh, I'm very much aware of what you're talking about. I guess my point was that it is amazing that the WJC took this long to acknowledge the obvious.

Poland should not be made responsible for the Holocaust, for which the blame lies entirely with the Nazis

How can these idiots not hold GW Bush at least partly responsibl? They are slipping.

In the 70's, I had the opportunity to visit a concentration camp outside Munich, but I declined. I feared the experience would be too intense.

I remember speaking with Jewish friends and colleagues in the 70's about Poland and they were mostly bitter and cynical about the antisemitism of certain Poles during WW II.

Poland should not be made responsible for the Holocaust, for which the blame lies entirely with the Nazis and their World War II allies, ==

So as on Latvia, Lithvinia and Estonia?

By your reasoning, Russia is responsible for communism?

For communism? Communism is the theoretical movement. Was created by Karl Marx the german jew and Fridrich Engels the german who lived in Britain (as fas as I know).

What Russia? Russian Empire- RE? Or today Russian Federation- RF? Or Russian ethnicity?

SOviet Union was about socialism. Like in Europe today:).

Soviet Union was created by nonrussian citizens of RE. There were no russian leader of USSR until Gorby. But one georgian, 3 ukranians and so on.

Now they both blame russians for what thier OWN people did.

Oh yeah - Hitler was Austrian hence Germans not to blame. Russian tzars after Peter the 3rd were practically ethnic Germans too, so WTF? Poor Russians - fooled by Mongols, Poles, German czars, Ukrainians and Georgian Stalin. You're talking BS :)

Hitler was elected by Germans of free elections.

No Stalin and no Kruschev, Brezhnev or Chernenko was elected by Russians. SO they are never was the respresentatives of Russians.

Gorby wasn't elected too. But he was ethnic Russian at least. And he ended Soviet Union. So you may see how "tend" russians was about USSR.

All russian czars being partially Russian ethnically but they were Russian csars not Soviet Union's. If you not forget the family name of russin czars was Romanov not some Chernenko or Dzugashilli.

Where in this name "Soviet Union" is the word "Russia"? If I recall there were People republic of Poland not some whoever Union in place of today Poland?

Original name of Catherine the Great was Sophie Augusta Fredericka of Anhalt-Zerbst.

Typically Russian, indeed :-)))

Where in the name Third Reich is the word Germany? Soviet Union was Russian Empire in cosmopolitic disguise. In Poland we say "Sowiecka Rosja" - "Soviet Russia" and "Nazistowskie Niemcy" - "Nazi Germany" talking about these two evil regimes.
