I don't suppose that any of you could recommend a good layman's guide to physics. I took a look at 'physics for dummies' (no, I'm not kidding), but I'm not certain that I really trust that series to be accurate.

Hawkings' "A Brief History of Time" ain't too confusing.
most of this cosmology stuff makes my brain hurt, honestly.

'physics for dummies' is most likely as accurate for the lay person as anything else you could read.........Spanish for dummies was pretty darn good - we need one ASAP called English for dummies........

The "blank" for dummies series books are generaly good. I don't know of any simplified text's, good, or not. I use good texts. An explaination of any simple physics can be found on the net though.

Stephen Hawkings books are well written and easily understood by the layman.

Get the book by Stephen Hawking (A Brief History of Time). The book is amazing ....not only in that it really expounds on a whole set of very interesting aspects and facets of the universe, but also in the manner in which it manages to convey subject material that should be brain-warping in a manner that is both INTERESTING and UNDERSTANDABLE. The guy should get an award just for that!
