I was born in '54 so I never got to see him play professionally.
I did get to see him play in a AAA game in Vancouver right before he retired in 1960, but I don't remember a lot about it, darn it.

I went thru McGuire...on my way to Vietnam in 1970. I've have since been to many more pleasant and peaceful destinations.

Oh, don't be in awe of me... I wasn't there. hahahaha
I'm amazed how many people write and say they remember seeing my dad pitch and how if WWII hadn't have happened, he could have been one of the "Great" pitchers of the era.
