I compare Hitchens to Hitler. Hitler wanted to destroy Stalin. Whatever Hitler's motives for wanting that, the result was an absolute good. In all other respects, Hitler was an evil being.
It gets confusing and while I agree that Hitchens has some deep seated emotional problems with Christianity, and especially Catholicism, he is not an "evil" man and comparing him to either Hitler or Satlin trivializes how totally evil both of those monsters were.
In all other respects, Stalin was an evil being.
But you did not include this:
He's still an evil person in many other respects.
Don't put words in my mouth. I did not say he was the same as Stalin, and in fact I used language stating that he was less evil than Stalin. Further, I never compared him to Hitler at all.
