Hitchens is a militant ATHIEST. Something he is PROUD of. I ignore him. Shake the dust from my feet so to say. Religion and espically Christianity offends him.
There is another story with similar spin to the gospel of Judas. It is taught in public schools today and I personally was exposed to it mulitple times throughout gradeschool. Instead of targeting the gospels though, it targets Genesis. Instead of the serpent being evil he is the savior of man against a capricious god who witholds special knowledge from mankind.
Know what I'm talking about? It's a Greek myth. The myth of Prometheus, who steals fire from Zeus to give to man. It's a spin on the Genesis creation story so that the good and bad guys are reversed, shedding a good light on the serpent.

Christopher Hitchens should keep his perverse thoughts to himself instead of displaying them for all to see what a moron he is. He does admit that his premise is that Judas was a hero. I would have liked to see an intellectual discussion of the history and merits of the gnostic gospels, with rationale to support his assertions. He writes off the concerns of the early church with unsupported assertions. Why should we believe his version when he is so cavalier? His thought process is so distorted that I am not sure what to think of believe anything he has to say. I'd rather read the comics.

All I have to say about the so-called Judas Gospel is this: Read Matthew 26:24-25, Mark 14:21, Luke 22:22. If you buy into the Judas Gospel, you are calling Jesus Christ a liar.

The bible says that Satan entered into Judas. Now if you say that Satan and Christ were working together, you are getting into some very very dangerous territory.
They should lose it again and let it stay lost like it's namesake.
