I tell my relatives who are in public schools...."YOU are being CHEATED."

And sadly the phenomenon has spread to some Catholic and parochials schools like the one in my area, my son is now out of. Earth day, Cat in the Hat day - good. Saint's days? Huh? (cue crickets...) I'm sure not all Catholic and/or Christian schools have caved, but the ones in my area have. Homeschooling, if I'm blessed with any more or anyone asks my advice, that's what I'd have to say.

inspired students to start using — and washing — reusable lunch trays instead of plastic foam trays.

Since they won't know much else, learning how to wash things will probably be a useful job skill for them.

So the dumbing down has ramped up even more? Creating good little worker bees, not too bright, but eager to work for the common good...

And I don't know about you all, but when I was in grade school, high school and college, we had hard trays (not cheap plastic), either molded or flat, real silverware and plates and glasses that people, like me in college, were paid to clean.

Why students don't know where Louisiana is (or Iraq)....or how to read, etc.

Yeah but at the end of the day, tests show public school students are MUCH better than private school students at putting a condom on a banana.
