Yes, Laura clerked for a conservative jurist, not sure which. I think she also worked at the WH or dated someone who worked at the WH...but she knows politics. Brian WILL get it; he's got the smarts. It just takes time. I wish someone would get them to look over all the work and information FReepers put on this site. They'd learn quicker.

I think that chorus will grow larger this summer and fall on FR. There will be a convention of relentless trolls here.

Maybe we can starve them!

NO, BRIAN, NO!! Military tribunal- not criminal courts. I don't know if high-profile jurists are trustworthy...expecially in terrorism cases.

Not sure about this- under Federal law- is conspiracy to commit murder a death penalty case?

I know in state courts that simple conspiracy and an overt act constitutes felony murder. I also think that under Federal anti-terrorist laws the same applies at the Federal level. I'm not sure you could try bin-Laden in the civilian courts because I don't know when all the statutes were passed. But I'm sure he has caused the death of others which would constitute participation in conspiracy in other terrorist acts which killed Americans (e.g. Bali). Military tribunals would be different. There he is simply an unlawful combatant.

The Judge did say something about a ruling that changed the way it had been for 100 years. I don't know enough about the law to know if y'all are talking about the same thing.

The Judge is right on this one.

Non-homicide crimes which may result in a federal death sentence:

Espionage (18 U.S.C. 794)

Treason. (18 U.S.C. 2381)

Trafficking in large quantities of drugs (18 U.S.C. 3591(b))

Attempting, authorizing or advising the killing of any officer, juror,or witness in cases involving a Continuing Criminal Enterprise, regardless of whether such killing actually occurs. (18 U.S.C. 3591(b)(2))

Lee, don't get your hopes up. At our Tuesday Primary, our NC State Rep. for whom I volunteered got severely rejected, apparently because, as a conservative, he did not bring home enough money [Pork] to our district.

Worse the turnout was very low. Because the media is more concerned over pushing their negative agenda and many people have the attention span of a gnat [me included], people are not turning out to vote for honest, responsible candidates willing to defend our country and our borders and our culture.

The only problem with him not getting death is that a dim could later release him. If he's dead, he is dead.

Massoui (sp?) IS crazy! He blames the CIA for the attacks. He doesn't realize that parts of the CIA are on his side! Wish I could laugh like this is a joke. :-(

(sigh) our work is not over...we've still got 6 months. <

Different subject: May Moussaoui rot in whatever hole they put him and may he be forced to eat pork and other unspeakable things (picture a scene in The Butterfly Effect).
