From Wikipedia:

In Supermax prisons, prisoners are often allowed out of their cells for only an hour a day; often they are kept in solitary confinement. They receive their meals through "food ports" in the doors of their cells. Often they are given nothing to do, no work or assigned activities, except in many Supermax prisons, including the Federal Supermax in Florence, Colorado, the prisoners are allowed to have a television. When Supermax inmates are allowed access to an exercise area, often this is just a small cage, not much different from their cells, in which they are taken to "exercise" alone. Prisoners are under constant surveillance, usually with video cameras. Cell doors are often automated and often opaque, designed to prevent prisoners from seeing outside their cells. Conditions are extremely spartan, with poured concrete furniture the norm. Cell walls, and sometimes plumbing as well, are often soundproofed to prevent communication between the inmates.

There was a feature tonight (I think it was Nightline) telling about the Colorado prison where he will be held. Aside from a few high profile criminals, most of the 400 inmates are there because they are the most violent, dangerous former inmates of our other prisons. So we have 400 extremely vicious dangerous men sitting for 24 hours per day with nothing to do but figure a way to become a hero for killing the "20th bomber". If he lasts as long as Jeffry Daumer (the cannibal), I'll be surprised.

I gather one of the major risks of Supermax prisons is prisoners end up going crazydue to the solitary confinement. Moussaoui is already halfway there anyway, so I look forward to seeing him go full tilt crazy...just as long as they can't parole him for it.

They said on the local news this morning that the television only plays religious programing and anger management counseling. LMAO!

Supermax facilities are also known as Level 5 facilities, or "the Shoe."

At one of the local state facility, I used to teach literature to people in the shoe. I sat on a chair in the hall, and the preisoners shouted answers from their cells. Interesting experience.

WE must now prepare

Amnesty international cruel condition protests
ABA cruel and unusual punishment cases
The appeal
The french government (CH.E.S.M.) demanding he be set to france to serve in their jail...until THEY release him.
We now have a parade of leftists seeking to use the madman.
