I'm in my 40's, I remember when we had Americans living in this Country. I remember being able to understand every word that was said because we all spoke English. I remember when we had Presidents that were American and looked out for our best interests...I'm pretty disgusted that my children have never known those days.
On my street we are the only family with US flag in front(about 50 households).And i'm LEGAL immigrant.Many people in this country don't understand how lucky they are.Sad...
Those were the good old days thats for sure.
But not their parents and not at home. Two houses down they spoke Polish at home. Three houses down French. Four houses down Italian. Next door German. Their children learned English, and that is the problem now in the bilingual schools, that they teach in Spanish and English, which is hurting all the children. What they speak at home is their own business, but the schools must teach in English.
