The bastard probably wants to die, so that may be one reason why the jury decided to put him in jail for life. I think the guy deserves to fry, but he may very well enjoy that, so I can see it both ways.

I doubt he will have a fun time in prison considering who he is.

He definitely is going to a "federal pound me in the ass prison," as Office Space put it.

It is clear the jury didn't buy he was mentally ill though or he would have gotten a lighter sentence. At least they weren't too stupid.

I'm definitely in favor of the death penalty for all murderers and I consider him one even though the jury didn't agree. But to qualify that, I think there might be some justification to lock him up for the rest of his life in solitary. The thing that bothers me about it is many of the judges we have are bleeding hearts and we don't know what will happen 10 or 20 years down the road.
