No, alot smaller. That one was a 9.1, this one now downgraded as low as 7.8 -- that's over 100 times smaller, if I calculate correctly.
Sorry-- meant to say 10 times smaller. Or about 13 times in this case.
Since the strongest quake I experienced was 5.6 in New Jersey, I'd say 7.8-8.1 is closer to Indonesian standards by my estimation.
